Feasibility of using smart meter water consumption data and in-sewer flow observations for sewer system analysis: a case study

چکیده

Abstract Globally, smart meters measuring the water consumption with a high temporal resolution at consumers' households are deployed an increasing rate. In addition to their use for billing or leak detection purposes, may provide detailed knowledge of wastewater inflow sewer systems in space and time open up new types system analyses aimed closing urban balance. this study, we first validate meter data against other, independent distribution data. Subsequently, hydrodynamic model link from almost 2,000 consumers in-sewer flow observations order simulate component dry weather (DWF) identify potential anomalies. Results show that it is feasible as input distributed drainage model, dynamics results match well. Furthermore, study suggests be subject unrecognised uncertainties, which make them unsuitable advanced investigations DWF composition, underlines necessity collecting sources. The also exemplifies digital integration sector complicated. However, overcoming these obstacles improve both offline real-time management.

Radar Based Flow and Water Level Forecasting in Sewer Systems – a Danish Case Study

This paper describes the first radar based forecast of flow and/or water level in sewer systems in Denmark. The rainfall is successfully forecasted with a lead time of 1-2 hours, and flow/levels are forecasted an additional 1⁄2-11⁄2 hours using models describing the behaviour of the sewer system. Both radar data and flow/water level model are continuously updated using online rain gauges and on...

Numerical Analysis of Sediment Transport in Sewer Pipe

The efficiency and economical performance of sewer systems is an essential issue in urban drainage. The need for sewers to carry sediment has been recognized for many years. One of the main problems in designing sewerage systems is the sediment deposition. Sedimentation in sewers occurs regularly according to the alternating natural flow. The present study investigates the hydraulic characteris...
